Qatar Emir Offers Condolences to Dubai Ruler Following Passing of Sheikh Ahmed
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, received a meaningful phone call from Qatar’s Emir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, this past Saturday. The conversation served as an official expression of sympathy regarding the recent passing of Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. During their talk, the Emir of Qatar shared his heartfelt condolences, offering prayers for the deceased to find peace in Paradise while wishing the Al Maktoum family strength and patience during this period of mourning.
In response, Sheikh Mohammed extended his gratitude to Sheikh Tamim for the kind gesture and the deep sense of brotherhood shown during such a difficult time. Sheikh Ahmed bin Rashid Al Maktoum had passed away earlier in the week at the age of 76, leading to a formal 10-day mourning period throughout Dubai. The late Sheikh was laid to rest following funeral prayers held at the Za'abeel Grand Mosque on September 22, with the emirate marking his passing by flying flags at half-mast.
