Qatar’s Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, has strongly rebuffed recent allegations suggesting that Doha attempted to infiltrate or bribe members of the Israeli government. During a recent interview at the United Nations General Assembly, he dismissed these claims as “absurd,” noting that such an endeavor would have been a poor investment. Instead, he warned that Qatar is being unfairly used as a convenient scapegoat by Israeli leaders looking to deflect from their own internal political failures and upcoming electoral pressures.

The Prime Minister further accused the Netanyahu administration of actively undermining mediation efforts aimed at securing ceasefires and hostage releases in Gaza. He pointed out the irony in the current rhetoric, noting that even former Israeli officials who once lauded Qatar’s diplomatic role are now attacking the nation to serve their own political agendas. According to Sheikh Mohammed, Qatar has become a target for those seeking to stir regional instability, despite Doha's consistent efforts to act as a neutral mediator throughout the ongoing conflict.
