India Issues Stern Warning Against Joining Russian Military
The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has issued a fresh advisory urging Indian citizens to steer clear of recruitment efforts into the Russian armed forces. Officials expressed deep concern over individuals being enticed by unverified job offers and the promise of quick financial gain, highlighting that such decisions often lead to life-threatening situations. The government emphasized that many citizens have been misled by unauthorized agents and voluntary groups, often unaware of the extreme risks involved in engaging with foreign military conflicts.
Authorities clarified that they are actively working with Russian counterparts to secure the safety and early release of Indians currently stuck in the Russian military. However, the MEA strongly discouraged the practice of seeking foreign recruitment, noting that some individuals have even gone as far as renouncing their Indian citizenship to pursue these roles. The government is urging everyone to practice extreme caution, conduct thorough due diligence, and avoid any employment opportunities abroad that are not officially vetted by the Ministry.
