According to reports from the Saudi-led coalition, the Iran-backed group targeted the facility earlier this week. While the attack successfully disabled one of the station’s transformers, officials confirmed that the overall power grid supplying the holy city remained functional and undisturbed.

In an official statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs characterized the assault as a brazen breach of Saudi sovereignty and a direct challenge to the kingdom's security.
