Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached out to Captain Smit Machchhar on Friday to check on his recovery following a harrowing incident involving his flydubai flight. During their conversation, the Prime Minister commended the pilot for his remarkable composure and courage under pressure. For Captain Machchhar, who has long considered PM Modi his greatest idol, the gesture of support was deeply moving, especially after the leader assured him that he remains available whenever needed.

Reflecting on the traumatic event, the pilot described a desperate struggle for survival as he navigated multiple injuries to ensure the safety of those on board. He credited his survival to sheer determination, explaining that he forced himself to stay conscious and active despite the pain. It was his decisive action in forcing open the cockpit door that ultimately allowed passengers to reach him and provide the life-saving assistance he required during the emergency.
