Israeli Professor Faces Charges Over Alleged Plot to Target Arab Populations
An Israeli mathematics professor from Bar-Ilan University has been formally indicted following his arrest for allegedly orchestrating a massive, multi-pronged terror plot. According to prosecutors, the suspectâa resident of Petah Tikva in his sixtiesâspent over a year attempting to recruit a militia of 72 individuals to carry out coordinated attacks against Arab Israelis and Palestinians in the West Bank and East Jerusalem. His stated objective was to incite mass panic and force these populations to flee into neighboring countries, including Jordan, Lebanon, and Gaza.
The indictment outlines a chilling strategy that involved dividing recruits into twelve separate cells armed with everything from firearms to axes. Even more concerning, the professor reportedly sought to involve subversive elements within the Israeli military to coordinate aerial and artillery bombardments on civilian areas. While the suspect was ultimately unsuccessful in securing any accomplices, his intentions were described by authorities as deeply rooted in extreme nationalist ideology. Bar-Ilan University has since suspended the professor, expressing profound shock and condemning the alleged actions in the strongest possible terms.
