Saudi Arabia Streamlines Family Visa Process for Skilled Expatriates

Wed, Oct 7, 2026(1h ago)World

In a significant move to improve the relocation experience for international professionals, Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Interior has introduced a new policy allowing skilled expatriates to initiate family visa applications simultaneously with their own work permits. This initiative, developed in partnership with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Human Resources, is designed to remove bureaucratic hurdles and help workers settle into the Kingdom more efficiently. Under these updated guidelines, qualifying heads of households no longer need to wait for their own residency status to be finalized before beginning the paperwork to bring their loved ones along.

The policy covers spouses, unmarried daughters, and sons under the age of 25, provided they meet all standard application requirements. Once these family members arrive in the country, the finalization of their residence permits will be handled in accordance with local legal frameworks and existing regulations. By fast-tracking these procedures, the Saudi government aims to boost the quality of life for its resident workforce and strengthen its appeal as a premier destination for global talent looking to relocate with their families.
