Saudi Arabia's Path to Legal Residency for Yemeni Nationals

Wed, Oct 7, 2026(3h ago)World

In a significant gesture of support, Saudi Arabia has launched an initiative to help Yemeni nationals living in the kingdom without legal documentation rectify their residency status. This move comes following a formal request from Yemen’s President, Rashad Muhammad Al Alimi, and reflects the ongoing fraternal ties between the two nations. The Saudi Ministry of Interior, working alongside key departments such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority, confirmed that even those who entered the country irregularly will be eligible to participate in this process.

To take advantage of this opportunity, Yemeni residents must possess a valid passport. While the government has yet to release the specific timelines and regulatory details, they have promised to share updates through the General Directorate of Passports and other official government channels. President Al Alimi has publicly expressed his deep appreciation to King Salman bin Abdulaziz and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for this humanitarian gesture, which aims to provide stability and legal standing to the Yemeni community currently residing within the kingdom.
