Israel Strikes Gaza on Anniversary of October 7 Attacks
As the region somberly marked the third anniversary of the October 7 Hamas-led attacks, Israel launched a fresh wave of strikes across Gaza on Wednesday. The timing of the military action was striking, as the sounds of explosions could be clearly heard from the nearby site of the Nova music festival, where families had gathered at sunrise to honor the memory of the 300 individuals killed at the event three years ago.
In Gaza City, local authorities and medical staff at Al-Shifa hospital confirmed that at least two people lost their lives in the overnight barrage. The Gaza civil defence identified one of the casualties as Mohamed Tamous, a volunteer who had been serving with the organizationâs emergency rescue team throughout the ongoing conflict.
