Imran Khan’s Children Speak Out on Family's Continued Detention
Kasim Khan, the son of former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan, has raised serious concerns regarding the ongoing detention of his three aunts, describing them as "abducted" by state authorities. In a recent statement, he emphasized that both family members and legal counsel have been denied any information regarding their current health status or the specific legal grounds for their ongoing incarceration. Adding to the gravity of the situation, Kasim revealed that he and his brother have been completely cut off from their father, having had no communication with the imprisoned PTI leader for over half a year.
The situation has prompted formal legal action, as relatives recently filed petitions in the Lahore High Court to gain access to the detainees. The families claim that they have been blocked from visiting Aleema Khan, Noreen Niazi, and Uzma Khan, and have even been prevented from delivering essential medications to them. While authorities continue to hold them following a crackdown prior to a planned protest march last month, Kasim Khan maintains that the people of Pakistan will not be silenced, arguing that the country cannot achieve stability while democratic processes are suppressed and their chosen leader remains behind bars.
