GCC Secretary-General Denounces Houthi Strikes on Saudi Airports
The Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi, has issued a sharp condemnation following recent terrorist attacks by Houthi militias against Abha and King Khalid airports in Saudi Arabia. Al Budaiwi emphasized that launching strikes on civilian infrastructure not only puts innocent travelers and staff at severe risk but also represents a grave breach of international law. He urged the global community to adopt a more decisive and unified position to curb these aggressive actions, which pose a direct threat to the stability and security of the wider region.
In the wake of these hostilities, the GCC has reiterated its absolute support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, standing firmly behind the countryâs efforts to defend its sovereignty and protect all residents within its borders. Al Budaiwi underscored the councilâs full backing of all security measures implemented by Riyadh to safeguard its national resources and territory. Furthermore, he extended his deepest sympathies to the victims' families and expressed his hope for a swift recovery for those injured during the incidents.
