Yemen's Houthis Claim Responsibility for Strikes on Saudi Airports
The Iran-aligned Houthi movement in Yemen has officially claimed responsibility for a series of aggressive aerial assaults directed at Saudi Arabia’s critical infrastructure. In a recent televised address, Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree confirmed that the group executed four distinct operations within a 24-hour period. These attacks involved a combination of sophisticated cruise missiles, ballistic weaponry, and unmanned drones, with the targets identified as the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and the airport in Dammam.
This escalation follows a particularly devastating strike on the Riyadh airport just a day earlier, an incident that resulted in 12 fatalities and left over 300 individuals injured. While the Houthis have asserted that they targeted the facility multiple times, the regional situation remains increasingly volatile. These claims of renewed hostilities come amid heightened tensions in the area, following the expiration of a significant 14-point memorandum of understanding between the United States and Iran on August 17.
