Last Rites Held for Indian National Killed in Riyadh Airport Strike; Four Remain in ICU
The Indian Embassy in Riyadh has confirmed that funeral rites for Mohammed Yousef Ali, who tragically lost his life during the recent attack on King Khalid International Airport, were completed on Monday in accordance with his family's wishes. As the situation remains tense, the embassy is actively monitoring the status of other affected citizens. Currently, four Indian nationals are receiving critical care in the ICU, four others are recovering in general wards, and three have already been discharged. Embassy officials are maintaining regular contact with the families of the victims to provide ongoing support and assistance during this difficult time.
In light of the escalating security environment, the embassy has issued a stern advisory urging all Indian nationals in Saudi Arabia to stay vigilant and follow local government guidelines. While diplomatic and consular services remain operational, travel has been significantly impacted, with major Indian carriers like Air India, Akasa Air, and Indigo suspending flights to the Kingdom until October 17. Saudi authorities have provided some relief for stranded travelers, confirming that those unable to depart due to flight cancellations will be exempt from overstay fines. The mission has also established a 24/7 control room to assist citizens with emergency queries or travel concerns.
