Emergency Landing at Jaipur Airport Amid Hijack Alert
An international Air India flight traveling from Frankfurt to Delhi was forced to make an emergency diversion to Jaipur International Airport on Wednesday morning following a major security alert. The situation began when the pilot activated transponder code ‘7500,’ the universal signal for unlawful interference or a hijack threat. Upon receiving the signal from Ahmedabad Air Traffic Control, the aircraft was promptly guided to an isolation bay, where it landed safely under strict security protocols.
Once on the ground, all passengers and crew were evacuated systematically while security forces—including the local police and the Anti-Terrorism Squad—secured the perimeter. Authorities are currently conducting rigorous physical screenings of all passengers and a deep search of their luggage to ensure the aircraft is clear. While the National Security Guard remains on standby in Delhi as a precaution, a formal investigation into the incident is ongoing to determine the cause of the distress signal.
