Saudi Arabia Executes Five Individuals Convicted of Terrorism
The Saudi Ministry of Interior confirmed on Saturday that five nationals were executed in the Eastern Province after being found guilty of serious terrorism-related crimes. The individuals—identified as Mohammed bin Munir bin Mohammed Al Zahir, Ali bin Abdulrab Al Hussein Al Sheikh, Hassan bin Zaki bin Mohammed Al Faraj, Reda bin Mohammed bin Ali Al Abu Abdullah, and Ali bin Hassan bin Ahmed Al Rabih—were accused of joining a foreign extremist group. Prosecutors successfully argued that the men were involved in armed attacks against security personnel and facilities, utilizing both grenades and firearms during their operations.
In addition to the violent attacks, the group was convicted of illicit weapons possession and providing financial and logistical support for terrorist activities within the Kingdom. Following their arrest and an extensive legal investigation, a competent court handed down the death penalty under Islamic law. The sentences were carried out after the Supreme Court upheld the verdicts and a royal decree was issued for their enforcement. In its official statement, the ministry emphasized that these executions demonstrate the government's unwavering resolve to protect public safety and hold those who threaten the nation's security accountable under the law.
