Mumbai Police Extends Crackdown: Seven More Arrested in Tiger Shroff Shooting Case
The investigation into the recent shooting incident targeting actor Tiger Shroff has gained significant momentum, with Mumbai Police apprehending seven additional suspects from Haryana. This latest operation brings the total number of individuals in custody to ten, including two women. The suspects are currently being transported to Mumbai, where they will face legal proceedings following their initial arrest based on intelligence gathered during the ongoing probe. Prior to this, authorities had successfully taken three other individuals into custody from Kota, Rajasthan, who were presented before the Esplanade Court earlier this week.
During the court session, the prosecution successfully argued for police custody of the initial three suspects until October 31, emphasizing the need to recover the weapon used in the attack and analyze confiscated electronic devices. While the defence team contested the remand, citing Supreme Court precedents to argue that custodial interrogation was unnecessary, the court ultimately sided with the police to allow for a thorough investigation into the motive and wider conspiracy. Amidst these developments, the family of one of the detainees, 23-year-old Radha, has publicly protested her innocence, claiming she may have been coerced. The Juhu-based incident, which fortunately left the actor unharmed despite his driver sustaining injuries, remains the primary focus as law enforcement continues to track the weapon supply network.
