Tibet Rocked by Powerful Magnitude 7 Earthquake
A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7.0 rattled the Tibet region this past Thursday, according to data released by the German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ). The tremor caused significant concern across the area, highlighting the seismic activity often associated with this geographically complex region.
Seismologists from the GFZ reported that the epicenter of the quake was situated at a relatively shallow depth of 10 kilometers, or approximately 6.21 miles. Because of the shallow nature of this event, the potential for surface impact remains a primary focus for local authorities as they assess the aftermath of the disturbance.
