Dubai Kicks Off Month-Long Festivities for National Day

Dubai has unveiled an exciting new campaign designed to celebrate significant national occasions in the UAE, as announced by the government on Wednesday. This initiative, known as the #ZayedAndRashid campaign, is a collaborative effort involving 16 government, semi-government, and private sector entities. It will coincide with the UAE Flag Day and the 53rd Eid Al Etihad (UAE National Day) celebrations, running from November 3 to December 3. This campaign aims to honor the founding fathers of the UAE, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.

Residents can look forward to a month filled with vibrant festivities. On December 2 and 3, spectacular fireworks will illuminate the skies at popular locations such as JBR Beach, Al Seef, Hatta, and Dubai Festival City Mall. Daily fireworks displays will also be held at Dubai’s Global Village. Seasonal markets like Beach Canteen, Ripe Market, and Winter Wonderland will feature Emirati-themed activities, local culinary delights, and unique shopping experiences.

A highlight of the celebrations will be the ‘Union Day Parade’ at City Walk on December 2, organized in partnership with Watani Al Emarat. This parade will showcase traditional Emirati culture through colorful performances and dances, creating a festive atmosphere for families and visitors alike. The Dubai Culture and Arts Authority will host special events at key cultural sites such as Hatta Heritage Village and Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, inviting attendees to explore Dubai’s rich history.

At Al Shindagha Museum, visitors will experience interactive performances that revive heritage houses, offering insights into life in old Dubai. The Etihad Museum will celebrate the history of the UAE’s Union with cultural events including exhibitions that narrate the story of the nation’s founding. Expo City Dubai will host a musical concert titled ‘Union Symphony,’ performed by the Firdaus Orchestra, featuring Emirati national songs in two free public performances.

Additionally, major parks, landmarks like the Dubai Frame and Clock Tower roundabout will be adorned with dazzling lights for Eid Al Etihad. A dedicated space at Dubai Airports will celebrate maritime heritage with traditional national songs welcoming visitors. Overall, this campaign promises to showcase authentic Emirati customs and values through a series of engaging cultural events.
