Dubai Police have successfully apprehended a gang of four Ethiopian nationals responsible for a daring heist in the Naif area. The thieves broke into a company’s safe, stealing Dh3 million and removing the office’s security camera drive before fleeing. The burglary occurred over a weekend in February, with evidence gathered from the crime scene revealing masked men breaking into the office around 4am.
The crime was discovered when an Asian employee arrived to open the office on Monday morning and found the premises in disarray. Upon realizing the theft, he immediately alerted the authorities. A specialized team from Dubai Police, including officers from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), forensic experts, and duty officers from Naif Police Station, launched an intensive investigation.
Using advanced techniques, the police tracked the suspects to a residence in the emirate. Following legal procedures, officers raided the location and arrested all four suspects. During questioning, the gang members confessed to the crime, admitting they had stolen and divided the cash among themselves. While part of the stolen money was recovered, the suspects revealed they had transferred the remaining funds to their home country through illegal money transfer channels.
Dubai Police have urged businesses to enhance security measures and report any suspicious activities immediately. Authorities reiterated their commitment to public safety and their determination to swiftly bring criminals to justice. The successful arrest highlights the efficiency of Dubai’s law enforcement in tackling complex crimes.
The incident serves as a reminder for businesses to remain vigilant and invest in robust security systems to prevent such crimes. By working closely with law enforcement, businesses can help ensure a safer environment for everyone.
