Zabeel Park in Dubai was transformed into a vibrant open-air dining venue on a recent Saturday evening, hosting a unique communal iftar event. The park, set against the stunning backdrop of the Dubai Frame, was adorned with dining mats, creating a festive atmosphere amidst lush greenery and a gentle breeze. This event, organized by Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives, brought residents together for an evening of prayer, supplication, and camaraderie.

As the sun began to set, the air filled with peaceful prayers as guests and visitors offered their supplications before the Maghrib call to prayer. One of the most touching moments came from local company BerryMont, which donated exotic fruits to workers, providing them with a special treat as they broke their fast. Zubair Mohammed from BerryMont explained that the gesture aimed to make iftar special for those who work hard to keep Dubai running, with thousands of fruit packets worth nearly Dh500,000 being distributed.

Residents like Shavez Khan appreciated the opportunity to break their fast in such a peaceful setting, finding it a blessing after a long day of work. Khan also enjoyed the exotic fruits, which he found unexpectedly delicious. Mustapha Adekoya, a worker from Nigeria, felt the event was particularly special, noting the serene atmosphere and the joy of being surrounded by many people during iftar.

Delivery riders, who often break their fast on the go, were also part of the gathering. Saad Ahmed, a delivery driver, appreciated sharing the meal with others who understood the unique experience of fasting while working away from family. The evening concluded with guests enjoying meals of biryani, fruits, and laban, followed by the Maghrib prayer and treats of ice cream and karak, making it a memorable communal iftar.

The event highlighted the spirit of community and appreciation for those who contribute to Dubai’s daily life. It was a moment of unity and gratitude, reflecting the city’s diverse and inclusive nature.
