Ramadan 2025: UAE Parking Hours Adjusted

As Ramadan approaches, the UAE adjusts various public services, including paid parking hours, to accommodate the needs of residents and visitors. In Dubai, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has split paid parking into two periods: from 8am to 6pm and from 8pm to 12am, Monday to Saturday. Parking is free between 6pm and 8pm and all day on Sundays. Multi-level parking buildings operate 24/7. Sharjah extends its paid parking hours from 8am to midnight, while Ajman splits its paid hours into 9am to 1pm and 8pm to 12am. Abu Dhabi maintains its usual Mawaqif timings but adjusts toll gate hours during peak times.

In addition to parking changes, authorities remind motorists to be cautious during Ramadan, especially before Iftar, as traffic accidents tend to increase. The UAE’s adjustments aim to facilitate smoother traffic flow and accommodate religious practices. For instance, parking is free for one hour after each Adaan (call to prayer) to ease access for prayer attendees.

The UAE’s public transportation also sees adjustments during Ramadan. For example, Dubai Metro operates from 5am to 12am on weekdays and until 1am on Fridays. Dubai Tram runs from 6am to 1am, Monday to Saturday, and from 9am to 1am on Sundays. These changes help residents navigate the city efficiently during the holy month.

Overall, the UAE’s Ramadan adjustments reflect a balance between accommodating religious observances and maintaining public services. Whether commuting or running errands, residents can rely on these adapted schedules to navigate the cities with ease.
