Sharjah Unveils Unified SMS Format for Public Parking Payments

Sharjah has taken a significant step towards enhancing the public parking experience across the emirate by unifying the SMS payment format for public parking users. This initiative, announced on March 6, aims to provide a more seamless and efficient service for residents and visitors alike. As part of this effort, the city code ‘KH’ previously used in Khor Fakkan has been discontinued, further streamlining the parking process.

The unification of the SMS payment format is part of Sharjah’s ongoing efforts to improve public services. In recent months, the emirate has introduced several changes to its parking systems, including the implementation of seven-day parking zones and the launch of a Smart parking system. Additionally, parking fees have been introduced in Al Dhaid and Kalba city, reflecting a broader strategy to modernize and standardize parking services across Sharjah.

Sharjah has also launched a new app called Mawqef, which allows users to pay public parking fees, check, and settle fines. The app features interactive maps that help users easily locate subscription zones and smart parking yards around the emirate. This digital innovation aligns with Sharjah’s commitment to leveraging technology to enhance public services and improve the overall user experience.

By integrating these technological advancements with streamlined payment systems, Sharjah is positioning itself as a leader in efficient urban management. The introduction of Mawqef and the unification of SMS payments underscore the emirate’s focus on convenience and accessibility, ensuring that residents and visitors can navigate public parking with ease.

As Sharjah continues to evolve its parking infrastructure, it is clear that the emirate is dedicated to creating a more user-friendly environment. With ongoing updates and innovations, Sharjah is setting a high standard for public services in the region.
