Sharjah Welcomes Thrilling New Adventure Park with Ziplines

The Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) is actively expanding its portfolio with exciting new projects, including an adventure park in Khorfakkan. This park, known as Al Jabel Adventures, will feature a zipline, adrenaline-pumping swings, and hiking trails, according to Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, CEO of Shurooq. The project aims to capitalize on Khorfakkan’s growing popularity as a destination for hiking and scuba diving.

Shurooq’s diverse portfolio spans hospitality, tourism, art, culture, and real estate. The authority has developed several notable projects in Sharjah, such as Moon Retreat, Al Badayer Retreat, Najad Al Meqsar, Al Majaz Waterfront, Al Qasba, Mleiha National Park, and Al Noor Island. These projects have significantly contributed to Sharjah’s tourism and cultural landscape.

In the hospitality sector, Shurooq currently operates five hotels and plans to expand further. Between the end of this year and next, three more hotels are set to open, focusing on niche developments that prioritize quality and experience over the number of rooms. One of these hotels will be connected to the Sharjah Safari, the largest safari outside Africa, while another will be located in Khorfakkan.

Shurooq is also transforming Mleiha into a prominent tourist and cultural destination. Mleiha National Park, covering 34 square kilometers, boasts a rich history dating back 200,000 years, encompassing the Neolithic, Paleolithic, Iron, and pre-Islamic Ages. The park features a museum showcasing archaeological findings, sunset lounges, and other activities. As Mleiha grows in popularity, it is emerging as a vibrant tourist and F&B destination, with new cafes, shops, and restaurants engaging local communities.

Shurooq’s focus on selling experiences rather than just rooms reflects its commitment to creating unique and memorable experiences for visitors. This approach aligns with its broader strategy to enhance Sharjah’s appeal as a cultural and tourist hub.
