During the holy month of Ramadan, UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan commended Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, for his efforts in promoting human values inspired by Islamic principles. This recognition was highlighted during an iftar gathering where Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid was honored as the first recipient of the Emirates International Holy Quran Award – Personality of the Year for 2025. This prestigious award acknowledges his significant contributions to the Holy Quran and its reciters globally.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed presented Sheikh Mohammed with a special edition of the Mushaf of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, a framed photograph, and a signed letter expressing appreciation for his dedicated service to the Quran. This includes his efforts in honoring Quran reciters, publishing Quran copies, supporting Quranic competitions, and promoting the Arabic language.
Sheikh Mohammed’s contributions extend beyond religious initiatives, as he plays a pivotal role in driving the UAE’s progress and supporting its people’s development. His humanitarian and cultural initiatives serve as a model for human advancement and prosperity. Notably, he has been instrumental in establishing the Dubai International Quran Award, which includes several key initiatives such as the Islamic Personality of the Year Award and various Quran competitions.
Additionally, Sheikh Mohammed established the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Printing the Holy Quran and has been a leading figure in the development of Quranic institutions and academies. The Emirates International Holy Quran Award, launched under the UAE President’s patronage, reflects the country’s commitment to supporting Quranic talents and recognizing global figures in the field. The award comprises sections for international and national Quranic competitions, as well as honoring a global Quranic personality.
