Akasa Air, a rapidly expanding Indian airline, has recently introduced daily direct flights connecting Abu Dhabi with Bengaluru and Ahmedabad. This strategic move complements its existing daily service between Mumbai and Abu Dhabi, which was launched in July 2024. The new routes are part of a codeshare agreement with Etihad Airways, aiming to strengthen travel links between India and the UAE. The flights from Bengaluru depart at 10:00 AM IST and arrive in Abu Dhabi at 12:35 PM AST, while those from Ahmedabad leave at 22:45 PM IST and land at 1:00 AM AST. The return flights from Abu Dhabi to Bengaluru take off at 3:00 AM AST and arrive at 8:45 AM IST, and from Abu Dhabi to Ahmedabad, they depart at 2:50 PM AST and arrive at 7:25 PM IST.
This expansion marks Akasa Air’s first international route from Bengaluru and a significant enhancement of its international operations from Ahmedabad. The airline now operates 21 weekly flights between India and Abu Dhabi, solidifying its presence in the UAE. Akasa Air’s growth is driven by the positive response to its Mumbai-Abu Dhabi route and the increasing demand for travel to the UAE from across India.
Akasa Air currently connects 22 Indian cities and five international destinations, including Doha, Jeddah, Riyadh, Abu Dhabi, and Kuwait City. The airline began its commercial operations on August 7, 2022, and initiated international flights on March 28, 2024, with non-stop services from Mumbai to Doha. This strategic expansion underscores Akasa Air’s commitment to enhancing connectivity and offering seamless travel experiences between India and key international markets.
The partnership with Etihad Airways not only boosts tourism and trade but also facilitates cultural exchanges between India and the UAE. Passengers can benefit from a unified itinerary, accessing a wide range of global destinations through both airlines’ networks. This collaboration highlights Akasa Air’s dedication to service excellence and customer convenience.
Akasa Air’s growth trajectory is set to continue with further international expansions planned, including operations to Medina and other destinations. The airline’s focus on affordable, reliable, and efficient air travel aligns with the growing demand for travel between India and the Middle East.
