Dubai Tenants May Soon Pay Annual Rent in Monthly Installments

Thu, Aug 13, 2026(3h ago)Business

Dubai is set to introduce a convenient “Rent Now, Pay Later” scheme this September, designed to alleviate the financial strain of large upfront housing payments. Developed by the Dubai Land Department in collaboration with a local bank, this initiative allows tenants to settle their annual rent in up to 12 interest-free monthly installments. Under this system, the bank will pay the landlord the full annual rent in one go, providing property owners with immediate financial security while offering tenants significantly more flexibility in managing their monthly budgets.

This program builds upon the existing Flexi Rent initiative launched earlier this summer, which sought to modernize payment structures across the city. By removing the traditional requirement for hefty lump-sum payments, the authorities hope to stabilize the rental market and make high-quality housing more accessible to a broader range of residents. Official details regarding eligibility criteria and the specific mechanics of the payment process are expected to be unveiled alongside the program's formal launch next month.
