du Secures Spot in MSCI Emerging Markets Index

Thu, Aug 13, 2026(3h ago)Business

Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company, known as du, is set to join the MSCI UAE Standard Index starting September 1, 2026. This move into the broader MSCI Emerging Markets Index is a significant milestone that is expected to draw in passive investment from global index-tracking funds. By increasing its visibility on the international stage, du anticipates higher trading liquidity and a stronger long-term appeal to institutional investors, further cementing its position as a major player in the UAE’s telecommunications sector.

This achievement follows a period of robust growth for the operator, which recently posted impressive financial results for the first half of 2026. With revenue climbing to Dh8.2 billion and net profit surging by 12.6 percent, the company’s strong operational performance paved the way for this inclusion. CEO Fahad Al Hassawi noted that the milestone reflects not only du’s internal resilience and business success but also the growing maturity and attractiveness of the UAE’s capital markets to global stakeholders.
