The UAE Food Bank has embarked on an ambitious initiative titled ‘United in Giving’ to deliver seven million meals to those in need during Ramadan. This campaign is guided by Sheikha Hind bint Maktoum, wife of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and aligns with the UAE’s vision to lead in humanitarian efforts. The initiative comprises three main components: ‘Blessing Baskets’, ‘Zabeel Iftar’, and ‘Surplus of Good’. ‘Blessing Baskets’ aims to distribute over 200,000 meals daily through donations and surplus food from various sources. ‘Zabeel Iftar’ provides meals for over 3,000 workers, highlighting social solidarity. ‘Surplus of Good’, a collaboration with Fatafeat TV, educates the community on sustainable food repurposing through six episodes in multiple languages.
