Qatar officials noted that they had proactively provided the magazine with concrete proof that the documents underpinning these claims were fabricated. They also pointed out that other media outlets had previously investigated the same documents and ultimately chose not to publish them after verifying their fraudulent nature, questioning why The New Yorker chose to move forward despite being warned.

Furthermore, Qatar characterized the allegations as part of a broader, malicious misinformation campaign orchestrated by far-right factions in Israel aimed at undermining Doha’s diplomatic reputation. Regarding the humanitarian aid sent to Gaza, the government emphasized that all financial transfers were conducted transparently and with the full knowledge and oversight of Israeli security agencies, including the Mossad and Shin Bet. According to Qatar, if any funds were misappropriated, the accountability lies with the Israeli government, which oversaw every step of the delivery process.
