BCB Seeks Probe Into Alleged Harassment of Nayeem Hasan

Sat, Jun 13, 2026(8h ago)World

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has officially raised serious concerns following reports that national team cricketer Nayeem Hasan was subjected to harassment and abuse by law enforcement personnel in Chattogram last Friday. Describing the behavior as both inappropriate and unacceptable, the board has issued a strong condemnation, emphasizing that such treatment of a national athlete is entirely intolerable. Consequently, the BCB has formally demanded a transparent and impartial investigation into the matter, urging the authorities to hold the responsible individuals accountable.

In the wake of the incident, the board has been in constant communication with Nayeem and his family to ensure their safety and provide them with full support. As the organization remains committed to upholding the rights and dignity of its players, it is working closely with local administration in Chattogram to resolve the situation. This development comes at a notable time for the board, as it recently underwent a leadership transition with former captain Tamim Iqbal taking the helm as president, accompanied by the appointment of Fahim Sinha as vice-president.
