Pakistan Anticipates Imminent US-Iran Peace Deal

Sat, Jun 13, 2026(4h ago)World

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed optimism that a landmark peace agreement between the United States and Iran could be finalized within the next 24 hours. Following weeks of arduous negotiations facilitated by Islamabad, Sharif announced on social media that the involved parties are closer than ever to a breakthrough. He confirmed that the government is already preparing for an electronic signing ceremony, which will pave the way for technical-level discussions scheduled for next week.

Despite this positive outlook, the path to resolution remains delicate. While both Washington and Tehran have indicated that a consensus is within reach, lingering tensions continue to surface, evidenced by recent reports of US forces intercepting Iranian drones over the Strait of Hormuz. Furthermore, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has exercised caution, noting that a full resolution is not guaranteed until every point of contention is formally settled. Nevertheless, Prime Minister Sharif remains hopeful that this mediation effort will serve as a permanent foundation for regional stability, thanking both nations for their continued cooperation.
