Qatari Authorities Apprehend 25 Individuals Following Violent Public Brawl

Wed, Jun 24, 2026(3h ago)World

Following the circulation of a disturbing viral video showing a violent confrontation in a public space, Qatari authorities have confirmed the arrest of 25 individuals. The footage, which gained significant traction on social media, depicts a group of men shouting and throwing furniture at one another inside a restaurant located in the Dafna district. While some of the participants were seen wearing football jerseys, officials have not yet determined whether the skirmish was linked to any specific sporting event.

In a formal statement, the Qatari Ministry of Interior condemned the incident as a violation of public order and safety. The ministry identified those detained as individuals of Arab nationality, though it did not disclose their specific countries of origin. The group has since been handed over to the Public Prosecution for further legal proceedings. Authorities have taken the opportunity to issue a stern reminder to the public, emphasizing that any behavior that threatens the peace or compromises safety will be met with strict enforcement of the law.
