Emergency Landing: IndiGo Flight from Dubai to Mumbai Diverts to Rajkot
An IndiGo flight traveling from Dubai to Mumbai was forced to make an emergency landing at Rajkot International Airport this Monday. The pilot initiated the diversion after picking up indications of smoke originating from the aircraft's cargo hold. Local authorities, including police and fire rescue teams, were immediately deployed to the tarmac as a standard safety precaution to handle the situation upon the plane’s arrival.
Fortunately, the landing was completed without incident, and all 194 passengers on board flight 6E 1452 were evacuated safely. Rajkot airport director Diganta Borah confirmed the successful landing, noting that everyone on the flight remained unharmed throughout the ordeal. While the airline continues to manage its extensive network of domestic and international routes, this event serves as a testament to the crew's quick response in prioritizing passenger safety during potential technical emergencies.
