King Khalid International Airport Restructures Operations Following Recent Attacks

Sun, Oct 25, 2026(2h ago)World

Beginning October 25, Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport is implementing a new operational plan that designates Terminal 2 exclusively for international travel, while domestic services will be moved to Terminal 1. Airport authorities are advising all passengers with existing reservations to reach out to their respective airlines to confirm flight details before traveling to the airport to avoid any travel disruptions.

This logistical shift comes in the wake of a series of security incidents earlier this month, where Houthi rebels targeted the facility with strikes on October 10 and 11, resulting in multiple casualties and significant damage. These attacks caused widespread flight cancellations across the region, with major carriers like Etihad and flydubai grounding services to the capital for several weeks. As the airport works to normalize its operations, the coalition continues to assess the security situation, and travelers are encouraged to stay informed through official updates.
