Paris Knife Attack: Three Women Injured as Bystanders Subdue Suspect
On Monday morning, a violent stabbing incident in the Porte de Clichy area of northern Paris left three women injured. The attack, which occurred around 11:30 a.m., involved a male suspect wielding two kitchen knives. Among the victims, who range in age from 19 to 36, two sustained life-threatening injuries to the abdomen and lower back, with local officials confirming that one of the women is pregnant. All three were promptly transported to a nearby hospital for emergency care.
The situation was brought under control thanks to the swift actions of an off-duty police officer, assisted by courageous bystanders. Witnesses described a chaotic scene where a local waiter and a passerby used a chair and a suitcase to physically restrain the assailant before law enforcement arrived. While the suspect reportedly made incoherent remarks during the apprehension, Interior Minister Laurent Nunez cautioned that it is too early to determine a motive, as an investigation into the circumstances of the attack remains ongoing.
