ADIB Hits Major Milestone as Half-Year Profits Climb 8%

Thu, Jul 30, 2026(2h ago)Business

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) has announced a strong performance for the first half of 2026, headlined by a net profit after tax of Dh3.8 billion—an 8% increase compared to the same period last year. A key highlight for the lender was reaching a historic balance sheet milestone, with total assets crossing the Dh300 billion mark for the first time. This growth was largely driven by a significant 26% surge in gross customer financing and the addition of 125,000 new customers, showcasing the bank's successful expansion strategy across both retail and wholesale sectors.

The bank’s financial health remains robust, marked by a 9% rise in revenue to Dh6.5 billion and a high return on equity of 28%. Beyond the bottom line, ADIB successfully improved its asset quality, pushing its non-performing asset ratio to a record low of 2.2%. While operating expenses grew as the bank invested heavily in digital transformation and talent, the cost-to-income ratio remained well-managed at 29%. According to ADIB’s leadership, these results underscore the institution's operational resilience and its ability to maintain consistent growth in an evolving economic landscape.
