ADIB Reports Strong Nine-Month Growth Driven by Surging Financing
Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank (ADIB) has announced a robust performance for the first nine months of 2026, with profit before tax climbing 6% to reach Dh6.4 billion. This steady growth was underpinned by a significant 25% surge in customer financing, which reached Dh218 billion, alongside a 17% increase in deposits. As the UAEās largest Islamic lender by assets, the bank expanded its total asset base to Dh318 billion, bolstered by the successful acquisition of roughly 200,000 new customers. Management attributed these results to the bank's operational resilience and the broader strength of the UAEās diversifying economy.
Beyond top-line growth, the bank highlighted an impressive improvement in asset quality, with the non-performing asset ratio falling to a record low of 2%. Impairment charges dropped by 12%, reflecting a healthy risk profile as the bank executes its "Vision 2035" strategy. Moving forward, ADIB aims to maintain this momentum through its commitment to sustainable finance and a recent Dh1.75 billion rights issue, which is set to bolster capital buffers and fuel further expansion. With a strong return on equity of 28%, the bank remains well-positioned to capitalize on emerging opportunities within both its retail and wholesale banking sectors.
