UAE Passport Strengthens Global Reach with New Papua New Guinea Visa Waiver
The UAE has further cemented its position as a global leader in travel mobility by finalizing a reciprocal visa-free agreement with Papua New Guinea. This new arrangement allows citizens from both nations to travel between the countries for up to 90 days within a 180-day window, provided their passports have at least six months of validity remaining. The policy took effect just 30 days after a Memorandum of Understanding was signed at the World Governments Summit in Dubai by UAE Minister of State Noura Al Kaabi and Papua New Guinean Prime Minister James Marape.
This development serves to bolster the UAE's ranking on the Passport Index, where it has consistently held the top spot since 2018 with a mobility score of 182. Beyond the convenience for travelers, officials from both nations view the partnership as a vital catalyst for economic growth, trade, and cultural integration. By creating easier access to Middle Eastern, African, and Asian markets, the agreement is expected to foster stronger investment ties while positioning both countries as forward-thinking participants in an increasingly interconnected global economy.
