The Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC), a key asset of the Dubai World Trade Centre, is undergoing a significant transformation designed to elevate its daily visitor capacity to 60,000. According to Amer Alfarsi, the Vice President of Real Estate Development at DWTC, the expansion project is currently well underway. The first part of this ambitious development is slated for completion by September 2027, with the entire project scheduled to reach its final milestone by 2028. This multi-phase initiative aims to modernize the facility with 100,000 square meters of dedicated service yards, a revamped road network, and a new multi-storey parking structure.

Central to this upgrade is the development of a sophisticated concourse designed to improve visitor flow and connectivity. This feature will allow the facility to host multiple events simultaneously across different halls, significantly increasing operational efficiency. This growth comes on the heels of a strong performance in 2025, where the DWTC welcomed nearly 3 million visitors and hosted over 400 events. As the center expands, it will also feature direct connectivity to Expo City, cementing its role as a premier destination for global events, with a particular focus on the booming healthcare and medical sectors.
