Abu Dhabi Court Dismisses Father’s Lawsuit Over Disputed Vehicle
A legal dispute between a father and his daughter in Abu Dhabi has concluded with the court ruling in favor of the daughter. The father had filed a lawsuit seeking to force his daughter to transfer ownership of a car worth over Dh10,000 into her name and cover Dh500 in accumulated traffic fines. He claimed that he had provided the vehicle to assist her, but she had consistently failed to complete the registration process or settle the penalties linked to her usage.
However, the daughter vehemently denied ever receiving the car, noting that she had been estranged from her father since 2023. As the father lacked concrete evidence to support his claims, the court allowed him to request a "decisive oath" from his daughter to resolve the matter. Upon appearing before the court, she swore under oath that she was never in possession of the vehicle. Following this, the court dismissed the father’s case and ordered him to bear the associated legal costs.
