All 14 Indian sailors rescued after vessel engine failure off Oman coast
A dramatic rescue mission unfolded off the coast of Oman after the Indian-flagged vessel, MSC Virat 1, suffered a critical engine failure. The Indian Embassy in Muscat confirmed that all 14 crew members on board were safely recovered after the boat became incapacitated at sea. Following the mechanical breakdown, the crew took the precautionary step of moving into a liferaft while awaiting emergency assistance.
The successful operation was the result of swift coordination between the Indian Embassy and Omani maritime authorities. Nearby vessels were alerted to the situation, allowing the MV Jabal Ali 9 to reach the stranded sailors and bring them safely on board. With all crew members now accounted for and secure, the authorities have concluded the search and rescue efforts initiated immediately following the distress report.
