Saudi Arabia Recalls Thousands of Lucid Air Vehicles Over Safety Concerns

Tue, Oct 27, 2026(45m ago)World

Saudi Arabian authorities have issued a widespread recall for 2,888 Lucid Air vehicles produced between 2023 and 2026. This safety intervention comes after inspectors identified a significant flaw in the external lighting electrical circuit. This malfunction poses a severe risk, as it could cause the system to overheat, potentially leading to a total failure of the brake lights or headlights. Such a defect not only impairs visibility but also increases the likelihood of accidents or fires, prompting officials to take immediate action to protect motorists.

To address the situation, owners are being urged to verify if their specific vehicle identification number (VIN) is affected by visiting the official commerce authority website. As a precautionary measure, the authority has advised owners to keep their vehicles parked away from buildings until the necessary repairs are completed. Fortunately, Lucid plans to rectify the defect at no cost to the customer through a remote over-the-air (OTA) software update. This recall is part of a broader, ongoing initiative across the Kingdom and the wider Gulf region to enforce strict safety standards and ensure all vehicles on the road remain hazard-free.
