NTA Issues Stern Warning Against Viral NEET-UG 2026 Misinformation
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially debunked a viral video concerning the NEET-UG 2026 examination, labeling the circulating content as entirely fabricated. In a public statement shared on X, the agency clarified that the claims presented in the video are false and intended to cause unnecessary alarm among students. Emphasizing the integrity of the process, the NTA confirmed that the recent re-examination held on June 21 was conducted under rigorous security measures. They have launched an investigation in collaboration with the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) and local law enforcement to identify and prosecute those responsible for spreading this deceptive misinformation.
This incident follows a turbulent period for the medical entrance process, which was recently marred by allegations of paper leaks and widespread irregularities. Following the initial May 3 examination, which saw over 2.28 million candidates participate across 551 cities, the NTA faced intense scrutiny after reports emerged of leaked test papers. The subsequent investigation, now handled by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), has already led to several arrests, including that of a chemistry professor with alleged ties to the breach. As investigations continue, the NTA is urging both students and parents to disregard social media rumors and rely exclusively on updates provided through their official website to ensure a fair and calm environment for all aspirants.
