Kuwait Faces Infrastructure Damage Following Iranian Drone and Missile Strikes
The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC) has confirmed that several of its oil facilities suffered significant structural damage and personnel injuries following a series of Iranian attacks. According to reports from Kuwait’s Center for Government Communication, the aggression began at dawn, involving the deployment of hostile ballistic missiles and drones across the nation's airspace. While the Kuwaiti Armed Forces managed to intercept and neutralize many of these threats, the resulting debris and direct hits impacted essential oil, water, and electricity infrastructure, triggering fires and forcing the immediate evacuation of affected sites.
In response to the escalation, the Kuwaiti Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a strong condemnation, labeling the strikes as a violation of international law and a systematic attack on civilian infrastructure. Officials have placed full responsibility on Iran for the resulting destruction and have affirmed the nation’s right to self-defense under Article 51 of the UN Charter. As recovery operations and emergency repairs continue, Kuwaiti authorities have pledged to maintain a state of high alert to protect the country's sovereignty and ensure the safety of its citizens against future threats.
