This emergency measure is scheduled to remain in effect until December 31, providing a crucial lifeline to a country whose domestic hydropower infrastructure suffered significant damage during the recent natural disaster.

The Indian government’s intervention aims to stabilize Nepal’s energy grid and mitigate the widespread power shortages caused by the destruction of several key generation facilities.
