Saudi Arabia Recalls Over 6,000 Mercedes Vehicles Over Brake Safety Concerns

Thu, Oct 29, 2026(2h ago)World

Saudi Arabian authorities have issued a formal recall for 6,388 Mercedes-Benz S-Class and Maybach models produced between 2020 and 2025. The move comes after officials identified a manufacturing defect in the front axle brake hoses. This flaw poses a significant safety risk, as it may cause brake fluid to leak over time, ultimately compromising the vehicle’s stopping power and increasing the likelihood of accidents on the road.

Vehicle owners are strongly encouraged to visit the official commerce authority website to check their chassis numbers against the list of affected units. If a vehicle is flagged, owners should promptly contact their local dealership to schedule necessary repairs, which are being provided at no cost. This recall is part of a broader, ongoing effort by the Kingdom to enforce rigorous automotive safety standards, following recent similar actions involving other major manufacturers like Lucid, Tesla, and Genesis to address potential fire and electrical hazards.
