UAE Developer Arada Enters Syria with Massive $7 Billion Urban Project

UAE-based developer Arada is officially expanding into Syria, launching a joint venture with the state-owned Syrian Sovereign Fund to construct a massive, multi-billion-dollar urban development. Located west of Damascus in the "New Damascus" area, this project marks one of the most significant foreign investments in the nation’s post-war reconstruction efforts. With an estimated development value of $7 billion (Dh25.7 billion), the sprawling site will span four million square meters and serve as a cornerstone for future growth in the region.

The ambitious master-planned community is designed to be a fully integrated mixed-use hub, featuring 11,000 residential units, a 300-bed hospital, expansive retail and office spaces, and modern educational facilities for 5,000 students. Beyond the initial build, Arada and the Syrian Sovereign Fund are actively scouting additional locations for future collaboration. For Arada, this venture marks its entry into a fourth international market, further strengthening its global portfolio, which now exceeds $42 billion and encompasses more than 66,000 homes. Company leadership emphasized that this partnership is focused not just on construction, but on long-term economic support, local job creation, and contributing to the country’s ongoing revitalization.
