Emaar Properties Makes Bid to Fully Acquire Emaar Development
Emaar Properties has officially announced a strategic move to secure full ownership of its subsidiary, Emaar Development, by launching a voluntary cash offer. The property giant is proposing to purchase all remaining shares it does not currently control at a price of Dh15 per share. While the proposal is still pending final approval from the board, this acquisition would consolidate Emaar Properties’ influence over its development arm, which it currently holds a 79 percent stake in. Market reaction to the news has been positive, with Emaar Development’s stock price climbing nearly 5 percent following the announcement.
This expansion effort follows a period of exceptional financial growth for the company, as Emaar Development reported a 43 percent surge in net profit to Dh6.7 billion during the first half of 2026. This success aligns with the parent company's broader performance, which saw a 34 percent increase in pre-tax profits during the first half of 2025, fueled by strong results across its retail, hospitality, and international sectors. Beyond these financial achievements, Emaar was recently honored with the "Dubai-it" award, recognizing its excellence in the real estate sector and its commitment to upholding the high operational standards that define Dubai’s urban growth.
