Dubai Rental Disputes Now Settled in Record Time
Between January and September of this year, the Dubai Rental Disputes Center (RDC) successfully mediated 2,350 cases, saving landlords and tenants from the stress of lengthy courtroom battles. By utilizing the Conciliation and Settlement Department, these parties were able to reach mutually beneficial agreements in an average of just six days. Once these mediated settlements are approved by a supervising judge, they carry the same legal weight as a formal court ruling, providing a secure and efficient alternative to traditional litigation.
Judge Abdulqader Mousa Mohammed, chairman of the RDC, noted that the success of this initiative highlights the effectiveness of prioritizing speed and specialized expertise in the legal process. By avoiding formal court proceedings, both tenants and landlords can enjoy more flexible resolutions that mitigate the social and economic burdens often associated with prolonged disputes. As Dubai's rental market continues to expand, this proactive approach to mediation is becoming an essential tool for maintaining harmony and ensuring fair access to justice for all parties involved.
