Dubai’s Road Network Gets a Major Refresh to Boost Safety and Traffic Flow
Motorists in Dubai can look forward to a smoother commuting experience following the completion of extensive maintenance and rehabilitation works by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Spanning 17 kilometers of asphalt across nine key streets and six districts, this project is part of a broader initiative to align the emirate's infrastructure with international quality standards. Major thoroughfares, including Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, Al Khawaneej Street, and King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street, have undergone significant repairs, alongside improvements in residential and industrial hubs like Mirdif, Jebel Ali, and Al Garhoud.
To ensure the long-term durability of the network, the RTA utilizes cutting-edge artificial intelligence and laser scanning technology to proactively identify cracks, potholes, and structural wear. By conducting these systematic inspections and remedial works, the authority aims to preserve the operational capacity of Dubai's roads while supporting the city’s rapid economic expansion. Officials emphasize that these efforts are central to enhancing the overall quality of life for residents, and they continue to urge drivers to stay vigilant and follow all directional signage whenever they encounter active maintenance zones.
